Accommodation & Meals
Your Home at Khaya Hanci
At Khaya Hanci, you’ll live close to nature, surrounded by animals, open skies, and a small community of like-minded people. Your time here isn’t just about volunteering—it’s about slowing down, reconnecting, and experiencing the rhythm of life in the African bush.
Where You’ll Stay
Volunteers stay in a comfortable shared house on the farm, equipped with:
3 bedrooms with single and bunk beds
2 shared bathrooms
A spacious dining and lounge area
A terrace perfect for sunset views or morning coffee
A washing machine available for your personal laundry
A brand-new pool to cool off after a day in the saddle
And of course, our beloved Ridgeback dogs—always nearby, always part of the team
Outside, we’ve created a special space that captures the spirit of life in the bush:
A braai and fire pit area where we regularly gather in the evenings. Whether we’re grilling under the stars, sharing stories by the fire, or simply enjoying the quiet sounds of the wild—these moments bring us together and make this place feel like home.
Food & Cooking
Groceries are provided for self-catering, and volunteers prepare meals together in the shared kitchen. So vegan or vegetarian isn't a problem for us.
Evening meals are often a group effort—and a chance to wind down and connect.
You're welcome to bring your favorite snacks or ingredients from home.
Here, life is simple, real, and rooted in nature. Whether you're working with horses, watching wildlife in the distance, or sitting by the fire under a sky full of stars—Khaya Hanci offers a space to breathe, belong, and be part of something meaningful.
