Snowflake The White Buffalo

Snowflake is a rare white buffalo calf that was born on Khaya Hanci. A white animal is an extreme rarity in the wild and also significant in both scientific and mythical terms, and so we are keeping a close eye on this little gem. We invite you to track her growth and progress with us!

As far as we can tell, Snowflake has a condition known as leucism, which leads to a suppression in melanin production, which is a throwback to ice age genetics. Leucistic animals tend to darken with age, and so Snowflake will likely change from season to season. We will share her progress here, and also on her very own Facebook page
