Snowflake The White Buffalo

Snowflake the White Buffalo – A Sacred Presence at Khaya Hanci
At Khaya Hanci, we are honored to be the home of Snowflake, a rare and majestic white buffalo whose presence holds deep spiritual and cultural significance. Snowflake is not just an extraordinary animal by appearance—she is a symbol of peace, hope, and unity for many Indigenous cultures, particularly among Native American traditions where the white buffalo is considered a sacred messenger.
White buffalos are incredibly rare—estimated to occur only once in several million births. Their appearance is often regarded as a powerful spiritual sign, a reminder of harmony between humanity and nature. Snowflake’s gentle spirit and striking beauty bring a sense of calm and reverence to all who visit her.
At Khaya Hanci, we provide Snowflake with a safe, respectful, and natural environment. Visitors are invited to experience her presence with mindfulness and respect, and to learn about the significance of the white buffalo through guided visits, storytelling, and educational sessions.
As far as we can tell, Snowflake has a condition known as albinism, a rare condition which only occures when both parents carry the gene. This gene comes with a lot of other challenges, such as visual impairment, high sensitivity to UV/sunlight etc. To avoid her to breed we are doing contraception on her.
Snowflake has her very own Facebook page. Find out more about this special animal there :)
